EXTRA-ORDINARY CSI SUPPORT

Both Socio Economic Development and Enterprise Development programmes were implemented to benefit local communities during the construction period of Matla A Bokone.

Although economic development funding officially commences once the solar plant begins it’s 20-year operations period, Matla A Bokone chose to implement early beneficiary programmes to begin community support as soon as possible, through extra-ordinary funding.

This programme included an Early Childhood Development (ECD) project and a skills development programme. The ECD project is a CSI initiative, under the flagship name ‘Hearts and Minds Initiatives’.
